Fundraiser description
Adam is our beloved husband and dad, always strong, happy, and simply irreplaceable. He is the one who always taught us to hold our heads up high and never give up. Today, the tables have turned. We are fighting for his life. The disease attacked without warning and took away his physical abilities.
It all began in 2023, after an inguinal hernia repair. Although the surgery was effective, our dad never recovered from it. He was weak and lacked energy. His legs became limp. We were searching for the cause of those health issues, initially blaming the ski accident in which our father had suffered a spine injury. We believed that the symptoms would be gone soon…

Unfortunately, they didn’t. In June 2024, we heard a diagnosis that made us go weak at the knees – amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Since then, our lives have changed entirely. The disease quickly spreads to other parts of the body. Our dad uses a wheelchair because he’s lost control over his arms and legs. He also has trouble speaking. It breaks our hearts to see our beloved father get weaker and disappear day by day…
We live in Norway, where treatment to slow symptom progression is unavailable. Lately, we’ve found a clinic in Germany that specializes in an innovative neurostimulation therapy. Although we know there is no cure for ALS, this therapy can offer a real chance to improve the comfort of our dad’s life.

Unfortunately, the cost of a weekly stay and rehabilitation is ca. PLN 64.000. We don’t know how many times our dad will have to travel there, because ALS varies from person to person. Currently, we want to raise funds to cover at least the first week in the clinic. We seize every opportunity to help our dad! The treatment is our last resort. Despite enormous fear, fatigue, and moments of doubt, we don’t lose hope.
Our father sometimes doesn’t have the strength to fight anymore, but we do that for him, and we’re not giving up! We want him to live the best life for as long as possible. This is why we ask you for help from the bottom of our hearts! Every penny matters! If you cannot donate, please share this story with others. Together, with your help, we can give our dad a real chance and hope for a better, brighter future.
