Adam – fighter fighting cystic fibrosis

Adam’s days are very different from those of other children his age – several times a day either his mum or dad gives him a hypertonic saline inhalation, followed by chest physiotherapy, and on top of that there are plenty of medicines for him to take, including antibiotics or digestion enzymes, which he needs to take with my meals to be able to digest food.

All this is because Adam has CYSTIC FIBROSIS.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening inherited chronic disease that most critically affects the liver, lungs, sinuses, pancreas, and intestines.

It disrupts the body’s salt balance, leaving too little salt and water on the outside of cells and causing the thin layer of mucus that usually keeps the lungs free of germs to become thick and sticky. This mucus is difficult to cough out, and it clogs the lungs and airways, leading to infections and damaged lungs. The disease eventually leads to disability and multisystem failure.

In addition to breathing difficulties and serious lung infections, CF mucus affects digestion by obstructing the pancreas and stopping natural enzymes from helping the body to break down and absorb food.

We have made it our mission to make sure that Adam lives a wonderful, fulfilled existence. Perhaps he’s not destined to live the longest of lives, but we strongly believe that we can offer him plenty of love, laughter and experience, at least as far as his health and our financial resources permit.

ADAM – karting driver – fighter on the track

In addition to everyday health activities, treatment and rehabilitation, we also try to support and develop Adam's interests and passions. The biggest one being karting.

Karting passion turns into sport, competition, but also rehabilitation related to the disease. Sports activities with a personal trainer as part of preparation for competition, effort while racing karting is a form of physical therapy and builds Adam's immunity. The incredible joy of driving, Adam's commitment and discipline is a kind of mental therapy.

In addition to the incredible joy that the classes bring to Adam, he has made incredible progress in terms of sports. In the 2022 season, he was placed many times on the podium (or just behind) in both individual races and entire competitions. In the general classification of Rok Cup Poland in the Baby Rok category, Adam took 4th place in Poland among 33 classified competitors.

Request for financial support for rehabilitation through sport and the realization of Adam's passion

Adam's daily fight against the disease, but also his sporting successes, made us want to enable him to continue participating in karting training and competitions.

Your financial support will enable Adam to start in karting competitions in Poland in the 2023 season. If we managed to collect a little more money, it would be possible for Adam to start in the Rotax Cup of Central and Eastern Europe.
