A tragic accident on the road❗️Help Adrian get back on his feet!

My name is Adrian and I am 21 years old. Until recently, I was healthy - I studied, worked and played sports. I had a head full of plans and dreams and my whole life was ahead of me. One day, one moment changed everything.

It was September 14. As every day, I got into a delivery van and went on tour. I did not come out of it on my own. There was a horror crash on the road. The car I was driving collided head-on with a truck. Fractions of a second decided that I was alive. I don't remember the moment of the accident and what happened next. Only darkness…

Doctors have no doubts, it's a miracle that I survived. Then I found out how bad my condition was. An accident got me stuck in the car. Medical helicopter took me to the hospital. A dramatic fight for my life began in the operating room. I was in a coma, I wasn't breathing on my own, a respirator was helping me. I fought with all my strength, as I am now fighting for my lost health. I woke up, regained consciousness. I went through pneumothorax, my leg was shattered to pieces, I had a severe open fracture with dislocation, and a crush of my kneecap. Then it also turned out that my arm is broken.                 

When I felt better, I was discharged home, medical transport brought me and carried me to the apartment. My mom rented a rehabilitation bed for me and bought an anti-bedsore mattress. Unfortunately, I still can't walk and this is my most important goal, getting back on my feet.

When I became a disabled person, I collided with the reality we live in. My family does everything to get me help, unfortunately it is difficult. My fight takes place in the shadow of another, the world's struggle with the pandemic, which unfortunately complicated everything. It is much harder to get rehabilitation. I have to be careful, I am in the high risk group, everything that happened put a heavy burden on my body, being ill would be a direct threat to my life.

An hour of rehabilitation does not give much. To really fight for fitness, I have to do it in a rehabilitation center. There, I will be able to work with a team of specialists on it all the time. In addition to intensive rehabilitation therapy, I will have classes with psychologists and physiotherapists. All this to regain fitness.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to get quick help from the National Health Fund, especially in a pandemic. More branches are being closed, and what is reimbursed is only a drop in the ocean. Private rehabilitation is necessary. I can't wait because time matters, immediate action after an accident is crucial! If help doesn't come quickly, my chance to recover will be gone forever!

Thanks to the exercises, I can walk about the balony. I have a rod inserted in my leg. I believe that I will go back to study, to work, to driving a car, to full fitness. I have loved sports since I was a child, I trained martial arts, I would love to go back to training, although I know that it is a long way.
