Fundraiser description
Our first fundraiser gave us hope and new possibilities. However, there is still a long path to recovery ahead of Aga, so we must ask you for support yet again.
Please read our daughter's story:
Agnieszka had a normal, peaceful life. She was perfectly healthy! When she was admitted to the hospital in April 2021, we were in shock! As it turned out, she had two brain aneurysms, and only one of them was removed. Her life changed 180 degrees!
In the following months, our daughter stayed at the rehabilitation unit and underwent shunt surgery (to lessen pressure on the brain from excess cerebrospinal fluid). Thanks to her determination, she was making progress. By March 2022, Agnieszka was fully recovered and could finally pick up where she left off and continue her career in cybersecurity.
We could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
The other aneurysm was still at the back of our minds, though.
It was like a ticking time bomb. In August, Agnieszka went to the hospital to have it removed. Unfortunately, the aneurysm ruptured during the surgery! Our drama started all over again.
The surgeons removed and reinserted the shunt system. Agnieszka developed infections one after another, and further procedures only made things worse. In September, Agnieszka underwent another surgery and had a gastrojejunostomy tube (GJ tube) placed in her intestines that allows feeding directly into the jejunum. It was unimaginable what our daughter had to go through!
Soon after, Agnieszka was admitted to the hospital again, this time due to the spreading of the scar tissue within the original wound area. The doctors had to remove and reinsert the shunt system again! God knows how many times she had this type of surgery!

In March 2023, our daughter, exhausted from countless surgical treatments, went to the rehabilitation center for a 2-month-long neurological rehabilitation. She had anemia, muscular dystrophy, and quadriplegia. She's in a poor mental condition, which is heartbreaking. We've been trying our best to improve it with the help of specialists.
Instead of endlessly waiting for insurance-covered rehabilitation, we hired a therapist who comes to our house - we would do everything to help Agnieszka recover. Soon, we'll run out of funds, so we are learning how to rehabilitate our daughter ourselves.
At the present, we take care of Agnieszka day and night. She cannot get up from bed or turn over by herself. When we need to go to the doctor, we must call for medical transport - our car is not wheelchair-accessible. It is a very difficult situation for all of us.
Our daughter is determined to regain her independence - her dream is to be able to walk again. So is ours!
We must ask you for help again. We believe that our beloved daughter's life can change for the better! We will be grateful for any donation.
