Fundraiser description
My name is Octa, Agus's daughter. We come from Indonesia. Our tragedy wasn’t supposed to happen, and yet it did here in Poland. My mom underwent a tonsillectomy, a relatively simple procedure from which she never returned.
The doctor says she will not survive. She's been staying in a coma in the ICU for almost three months. I cannot leave her there! I'm a nurse. Who will take better care of her if not me, her daughter?
I will provide her with rehabilitation and treatment. I believe that we can help her. There is nothing more I want and pray for. That is why I must take her back to Indonesia. However, my family and I cannot afford the enormous costs of medical transport…
Although Poland is 11,000 km away, my mom came here because of a job opportunity. We hardly got by in Indonesia, so any job abroad seemed like an opportunity.
My mom worked as a masseuse for a year, but she often got tonsillitis, which had been quite common for her before she went to Poland. She decided to see a laryngologist in the fall of 2022.
The doctors recommended her tonsillectomy, a routine procedure, nothing to worry about. It was scheduled for February 1, 2023. The next day, she was supposed to come back home.

We couldn't believe what had happened! Initially, the doctor and the nurse assured us everything went according to the plan. Then a second surgery was required!
Somehow a blood clot formed in the esophagus, causing oxygen deprivation and cardiac arrest. She was transported to the ICU due to her critical condition. Fortunately, the doctors managed to save her and stabilize her. Unfortunately, she suffered extensive brain damage and has remained in a coma. That's all we know for now...
The doctors say my mom will never wake up! The brain damage is so severe that only a miracle would save her! However, I believe in that! As much as I believe in human kindness.
Currently, I'm in Indonesia, desperate and hopeless. Even if our whole family sold everything, we would not afford the treatment, rehabilitation, and, first and foremost, to bring my mom home. We can only count on good-hearted people! Please help us!
Our world fell apart overnight. Our dreams and plans are gone. But it doesn't matter. As long as my mom's heart is beating, we will not stop fighting for her! Against the doctor's opinion.
Please, donate to support our efforts to save my mom.
