Let Alicia win the gold!
Fundraiser goal: Participation in Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships
Fundraiser goal: Participation in Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships
Fundraiser description
Alicia is an 18-year-old swimmer with Down syndrome, who changed her aquatic therapy into a passion for swimming. She practices two disciplines—artistic swimming in the sports club, and competitive swimming (individual training).
Alice has been interested in swimming since childhood and her daily efforts paid off—she obtained great results in the European and national swimming championships. Last year, she became the European champion by winning the gold in an artistic swimming duet and received a bronze medal in solo artistic swimming. She brought home two gold medals from the Polish Special Olympics Summer Games in Rybnik, and two silver medals from Polish Championships in Para Swimming in Ciechanów, organized by “Sprawni Razem” Sports Association (in Polish: “Fit Together”).

Our daughter, thanks to her fantastic records, has been qualified to take part in the upcoming championships—and all we need to do as parents, is to raise funds for her trip and let her compete with the world’s best swimmers! Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships will be held in Portugal in October this year. The participation cost is 15,500 Polish zlotys (that includes a round-trip flight, registration and entry fees, accommodation, and assistance).

Alicia is the only Polish para swimmer to represent her country at Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships in two disciplines—competitive swimming and artistic swimming.
We must say, we love taking the challenge, since it propels Alicia’s progress, and that is all we care about!
We will appreciate your support :)
