Spine defect is killing Olek! Urgent surgery required! Please help us!

Olek’s condition is very serious! Only an urgent surgery in the USA can save him!

He cannot eat, sleep, sit, or walk. Olek is just 17 years old, but he lives with pain every single day. He finds it ordinary, but our hearts are being shattered… He suffers unstoppable pain, and despite that, he loves his life like no one else. Furthermore, he enjoys everything around him, and we secretly shed tears of sorrow, because Alexander is slowly dying… The life-saving surgery has to be performed within 6 months. If we don't make it on time, our son is going to die. Please help us…

When he was born, we were informed that he wouldn’t be able to walk or talk, and practically just lie and suffer. We couldn’t come to terms with it though, so he begun an intensive physical therapy and treatment, which allowed him to accomplish so much! Unfortunately, there came a moment when his spine defect started to threaten his life! Due to neurological disease, we were hopeless: the physical therapy and using the orthoses were insufficient. 

Now his health is in a tragic condition…

Alexander suffers from encephalopathy, neuromuscular scoliosis, he has high myopia, muscular dystrophy, Graves-Basedow disease, and mandibular hypoplasia. In July this year, he underwent a spine surgery, which was overdue due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, its result was different from what we had expected…

The surgery was performed by one of the best specialist surgeons trained in the USA. Unfortunately, already on the operating table, it turned out that the doctors cannot successfully perform a surgery with the use of available tools and equipment. The risk of damage to the spinal cord was too high… Here in Poland, the surgery supply is insufficient to cure Olek. 

Our doctor recommended, that we get in touch with the clinic in Wilmington, USA. It offers specialistic, intelligent equipment, and laser knives, which make the surgery much more secure and efficient! 

We have already consulted the doctors of the clinic. Olek got qualified for the surgery, which should be performed as soon as possible, not later than within six months. When that period expires, it will be too late for Olek… A feasible date is February next year, which means that we need to have the funds raised until January this year! The needed amount is huge, and we have very little time left… 

The scoliosis is progressing. It is already squeezing one of the Olek’s heart ventricles, his lung and internal organs, causing many painful disorders. Soon, a circulatory and respiratory failure might occur. Alexander will not survive it… 

He has never led a normal life. He lives with constant pain, and he got used to it. 

Despite that, he stays positive, and he is so lovable. He keeps telling me: “I love you, daddy”, he enjoys every single thing. Our second son, Maksymilian, takes care of Olek. He’s taller and stronger, and although he’s 5 years younger than Olek, he offers him the best support. 

We are asking you for help. We are scared that we can lose Olek at any time, and we are paralysed by the thought that he would be gone…

L'état d'Alex est très grave!

Seule une intervention chirurgicale urgente aux E.U. pourra sauver Alex !

Alex ne peut pas manger, dormir, rester assis ou marcher. Il a 17 ans, mais ne connaît pas de vie sans douleur. Pour lui c’est le quotidien et pour nous, ça nous fend le cœur...Il souffre à tout instant de son existence et malgré cela il aime la vie comme peu de gens. Il se contente de tout alors que nous essuyons secrètement les larmes de désespoir, car Aleksander s'efface peu à peu devant nos yeux...En plus des  nombreuses maladies avec lesquelles notre garçon lutte, il souffre d'une scoliose évolutive avancée qui chaque jour écrase un peu plus les organes internes, y compris le cœur et les poumons …

Parce que toutes les options de traitement possibles en Pologne ont été épuisé, que nous nous sommes tournés vers une clinique spécialisée à Wilmington, aux États-Unis. Les médecins là-bas peuvent ramener Alexander à une vie sans douleur. Cependant, les coûts de séjour à la clinique et l'opération elle-même sont incroyablement élevés. Nous avons au maximum six mois pour opérer Alex. Si nous ne le faisons pas, notre fils mourra. Aidez-nous SVP ! Nous avons peur pour Alex à tout instant et nous sommes paralysés à l’idée que demain il pourrait ne plus être là…
