It's a shock - in a moment the structure will tear Aleks' back! Urgent surgery needed! 

Something happened that no one expected - the rods that hold Alek's spine came loose! They are putting more and more pressure on the muscles and skin, and this will eventually lead to it tearing! In a moment Aleks' life will be in danger!

We need to return to the USA as soon as possible - the doctors have said they will undertake an extremely difficult surgery. They are the only ones able to do it.... The cost estimate from the USA is over $200,000! We are begging for your help, not thinking that we will be forced to do this again so soon.... 

The vision that all will be lost, that the pain and fear of death will come back again, is real again!

In August 2022 we returned from the USA after 2 stages of surgery that saved Aleks' life. It was possible to carry them out only thanks to you - people with big hearts, who were not indifferent to our son's suffering! That time we hoped that this was the end of fear, struggle and misery and that Alexander would get a chance for a new life. Unfortunately, a few months passed and it turned out that the structure was not able to support the spine!

The first stage of the surgery was carried out as planned on 15th June. The operation consisted of loosening the vertebrae of the spine and performing an osteotomy. Unfortunately, there were unexpected complications... Aleks suffered a pneumothorax and a bacterial infection. The next operation had to be postponed until 12th July. Our stay in the USA lengthened, costs increased. We were heartbroken... Then we once again asked for help. And you saved our son again!

Now we are facing again a drama that no one expected.... We are unable to hold back the tears as we look at our son's back - the structure is shifting, it is not good enough for him - it will soon pierce muscle and skin, inflicting unimaginable pain on Aleks!

We have to go back to the USA! The spinal bracing needs to be replaced as soon as possible and the rods in the pelvis need to be blocked. This is a situation that, due to the rarity of Alexander's case, no one could have foreseen beforehand....

The loose structure poses an immediate threat to life! Day by day, Aleks is having more and more trouble moving and the pain has returned again, making it impossible to function. The doctors have informed us that the spinal stabilising rods have to be replaced in February at the latest!

So please, we ask you on behalf of  Aleks - help us once again at this extremely difficult time in our lives. We can't do it without you...
