Spine defect is killing Olek! Urgent surgery required! Please help us!

Alek is already in the USA, where a heroic fight for his life continues! We managed to do it only thanks to the help of thousands of Donors, who were not indifferent to the fate of this suffering boy! Unfortunately, Alek's condition is very serious. Only after a thorough examination it became clear what the actual treatment plan would be. Today, we know that there must be more surgeries, and thus - the costs increase... Alek's parents once again very much ask for help - only thanks to you it can be done!

The boy's dad writes:

Alek is in the USA with his mom, where on May 18 the treatment that will save his life began! On this day the first surgery was performed. It consisted in placing a Hallo traction on Aleksander's head (8 holes were drilled in his skull and screws were inserted to support the extractor).

On May 19 the hallo traction started to work, accompanying Aleksander 24 hours a day - while he sleeps, sits and walks.

After MRI and CT scans, the doctors ordered a 3D model of the spine and after additional consultations with a neurologist, cardiologist and pneumonologist, we received information that the surgery planned for June 15th had to be divided into two stages due to the high risk of complications, mainly neurological.

The first stage of the surgery was scheduled for June 15th. The operation involved loosening the vertebrae of the spine and performing an osteotomy. The doctors decided to leave the lift in order to stretch the spine to the point where a permanent fixation could be put in place.  There is already a very visible effect after this surgery!

Unfortunately, there were unexpected complications... Alek suffered a pneumothorax and a bacterial infection. He is brave, he fights and does not give up! Therefore, despite the not always good news, we also can not give up!

We already have a date for the final surgery - it is July 12. As a result, our planned stay in the U.S. has been extended and costs have also increased significantly. Initially only one main operation was planned, but it turns out that we need two. When we found out that the price will actually increase by 100%, we were devastated... We remember how much effort it took many people to complete the first fundraising. Fortunately, we were able to negotiate a significant reduction with the hospital.

We have until the end of July to contribute over $30,000 to the hospital account. We are asking you for help again! It's really difficult, you've already done so much for us... But we have no other choice. We're fighting for the life of our son, who has already suffered so much and was not at fault for anything... Please, help Alek to come back home with his spine repaired, with a chance for a long and happy life!
