I am slowly disappearing… The disease has made my life a living hell… Only a surgery in the United States can save me❗️

In 2022, I underwent a wisdom tooth extraction, from which I thought I would recover within a couple of days, but I didn’t… Four years after the seemingly routine procedure, I'm still DYING from pain! 

My name is Ola, and only a few years ago, I was an active person, about to start my adult life, and making plans for the future. I loved sports - jogging, cycling, swimming, and volleyball. I was also admitted to the Medical University’s faculty of dental medicine, which was a dream come true! Ironically, it was the dental problem, temporomandibular joint disease, that has affected my daily functioning.

After wisdom tooth removal, I developed huge pain in the entire face, and my health condition worsened. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia and bilateral degenerative disorders of the temporomandibular joint. That’s what triggered my long-term battle for health.

None of the specialists I spoke to could offer me a proper treatment… The progressive joint disorder is the reason why I suffer from chronic pain! I also developed headaches, neck pain, earache, balance disorder, and started losing my physical abilities.

The list of diagnoses extended with each doctor’s appointment and examination… I was told I had craniocervical instability and degenerative and inflammatory disorders of the spine, and sacroiliitis. In early 2026, my health deteriorated even more. Due to the injury, I suffered from spinal cord tethering, and my spinal inflammation progressed. 

I’ve been undergoing a long-term, complex treatment, and months ago, I started consulting maxillofacial surgeons in the United States, who concluded that my only chance for recovery is temporomandibular joint replacement surgery. It is performed by only a few surgeons worldwide and requires specialized orthodontic treatment before and after the procedure. In my case, only specialists from the U.S. can help me!

I’m fed up with being in constant pain! The disease has taken its toll on my entire body, making me exhausted, unable to walk long distances, and forced to use a wheelchair… Painkillers that I’ve been taking for years have ruined my digestive system. I also suffer from unbearable joint pain, paralytic ileus, neuropathy, thermoregulatory disorders, and vertigo. I still believe in recovery, though…

Surgeries in the United States might help me regain my physical abilities, independence, and quality of life. At least partially. The first procedure is already scheduled for September! Unfortunately, the treatment costs over 800.000 zlotys, which is beyond my financial capabilities… Please help me recover!
