Kochani! I wygrać z nowotworem.

Fundraiser description

Alice, our second child, was born a healthy, beautiful baby in September 2023. My husband and I always wanted to start a family and have two children. Our dream came true! Alice and Frank are the apples of our eyes, and there is nothing we wouldn't do for them. Unfortunately, the diagnosis our daughter received ruined our bliss. Today, we must ask you for help to save her life.

At the end of August 2024, Alice suffered from a urinary infection, from which she recovered after being treated with antibiotics. However, while reading about pediatric infections, I found an article in which a follow-up abdominal ultrasound was recommended to assess kidney function. When it comes to health, especially that of our children, we always try to follow the doctor's orders, and so we did.

We were convinced it would be just a regular check-up. Alice felt fine, and her urinalysis result was normal. The doctor found a tumor in her abdomen, though, and referred us to the emergency department for further testing. We went to the hospital straight away. From that moment, Alice underwent a series of diagnostic tests which showed poor results, proving how dramatic our situation was.

Alice received a diagnosis that turned our lives upside down. It was stage 4 neuroblastoma, with the lowest survival rate! We were devastated and still cannot understand why our little girl faced such a cruel fate.

Unfortunately, when you hear cancer news, all you can do is find inner strength to deal with it. You put up a good fight. You start a battle no one has prepared you for. It is what we do now.

There is a 1.5-year-long treatment ahead of Alice that will take a heavy toll on her body. Thankfully, our daughter is in good hands - the doctors have already created a detailed therapy plan. At present, Alice has been undergoing chemotherapy that will probably last until December 15. Next, the doctors will repeat tests and examinations, and if the results come out fine, they will perform a cancer removal surgery. After that, Alice will undergo insurance-covered mega-chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, and immunotherapy here in Poland. Unfortunately, neuroblastoma tends to come back. The recurrence is sudden and unexpected!

However, in the dark, we saw the light at the end of the tunnel - a chance for recovery - an expensive vaccine that can prevent cancer recurrence. Since it is only available in the USA, we must ask you for help - we cannot afford it!

Until recently, we supported various fundraisers and participated in charitable events. Today, we are the ones who need help. We believe that good deeds come back!

Alice is an extraordinarily cheerful, happy, and energetic girl who smiles constantly, although she's been staying in the oncology unit for several weeks. Sadly, her older brother Frank cannot visit her, and my husband and I can only see her separately.

The siblings miss each other very much! Alice kisses the cell phone when she receives Frank's photo, and he cannot understand why his mom and little sister aren't home. Our situation is dramatic. We cannot surrender, though. We must do our best to save Alice's life so our family can reunite!

It won't be possible without your support, though! Therefore, we leave behind our pride to ask you for help! We also want to thank you for every donation!
