Fundraiser description
Amelia was born in September 2020. She was supposed to come to this world as a healthy baby girl. However, she showed the first symptoms of the disease within the first hours of her life. Initially, she was diagnosed with microcephaly, but in the following months, more issues appeared.
Due to significant changes that developed in her brain, she started to experience drug-resistant epilepsy, increased muscle tone (hypertonia), nystagmus, and astigmatism.
We started our fight to regain Amelia's physical abilities when she was two months old.
Today Amelia is two years old and diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. She cannot roll from back to stomach, sit, or hold her head up.
Despite a significant mental and physical delay, our little daughter has striven to regain physical abilities step by step. Every milestone, both emotional and physical achieves thanks to strenuous rehabilitation and constant check-ups with speech therapists, physical therapists and osteopaths, eye doctors, and neurologists.
They are expensive, though.
In addition, Amelia requires regular rehabilitation camps and special medical equipment, such as a wheelchair and orthoses. The list of her needs will get bigger with time.
We turn to you with hope, asking for your financial support.
Your donations will allow us to cover the costs of complex physical therapy. Your support will make a difference in Amelia's future life!
Thank you so much for your goodwill gesture!
