Fundraiser description

In February 2021, Amina noticed some lump in her abdomen, and after an ultrasound, we were recommended to see an oncologist. At Petrov Clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia, the pediatric oncologist referred us to Rauhfus Hospital, where surgery was performed by simply removing the tumor like a cyst. We waited for two weeks for the histology results from Petrov Research Institute. The diagnosis was malignant tumor of peripheral nerve sheaths, a very rare diagnosis, especially for a child.
Some doctors, as well as ourselves, did not believe that such a thing was possible. We went to other clinics and to the Rogachev Research Institute in Moscow, but the diagnosis was confirmed everywhere.
After the surgery, the tumor continued to grow aggressively, and Amina needed a radical tissue excision surgery. By a stroke of luck, we managed to get into the Gorbacheva Research Institute, where a 10-hour surgery was performed on April 28, 2021.
Chemotherapy is ineffective for this diagnosis, and Amina was recommended to undergo radiotherapy after she recovers from surgery. She was only able to complete her course of radiation therapy in September 2021, as her abdominal tissues took a long time to recover from the surgery, and starting earlier was not possible. Doctors said that there were only 3-4 such cases in history and all children with such a diagnosis died. I can't let this end!

During a routine check-up in January 2023, a tumor was found in her left kidney, and we made the decision to fly to Israel for further examination and treatment, as medical situation in Russia was already challenging, and the words of the doctor sounded in my ears: "Everyone died ... everyone died ..." .
We collected money for a deposit at the clinic, got a loan at work and were hoping it would cover both the examination and the potential surgery.
We immediately took a blood test and an MRI of the abdomen with contrast, PET CT and three days later, Amina had a biopsy. We waited 10 days for the results. After they were ready, we came for a consultation with the doctor. Metastatic lesions were found in different organs: lungs, bones, and pleural cavity.
There is currently no talk of surgery, as it is useless. Amina was urgently prescribed multiple courses of chemotherapy.
By that time, the biopsy result was ready and later confirmed by a genetic test that the initial diagnosis was incorrect. This test was completed last week, and it was revealed that Amina has BCOR sarcoma of the Yuing type, but in soft tissues. This sarcoma responds to chemotherapy, and the chances of a favorable outcome have significantly increased!
Doctors have slightly changed the chemotherapy regimen, but it is clear that the funds we managed to save for the initial deposit and starting treatment in Israel will not be enough. If we stop the treatment, her chances to survive will be zero.

If there is a possibility that the team of your foundation can support us with any amount of money to cover treatment in Ihilov, this will help us tremendously.
We want our daughter, sister and friend to have this chance for cure!

If chemotherapy is successful, we'll have surgery and radio and biological treatment and we will have to cover all this too.
Please help Amina, she is only 14 years old and she really wants to live!
