News from the battlefield! Andrzej still needs our support!

On Friday, September 22, after two months in the ICU, Andrzej was discharged from the hospital and transported to a Donum Corde private rehabilitation center in Budy Głogowskie.

The treatment covered by health insurance and offered by the hospital was over. Andrzej will fight for recovery there - first and foremost, he wants to be put off the ventilator and start breathing on his own.

Our family pins our hopes on physical therapy, since Andrzej's world depends on it! Please keep your fingers crossed, send positive energy to us, and support our fundraiser!

The monthly stay in the rehabilitation facility costs over 20,000 zlotys, which can increase depending on Andrzej's needs. There are also more expenses to cover.

On July 14, 2023, Andrzej's life dramatically changed, and our hearts shattered into a million pieces. Nothing will ever be the same.

While fixing the balcony, due to possible fainting, Andrzej fell from the third floor and hit his head against the ground. He miraculously survived the accident but suffered multiple injuries! The doctors put him in a medically induced coma. He fought for his life for two and a half weeks... He underwent six complex spine operations, including two cervical and one thoracic spine surgery. 

He's been staying in the ICU ever since. Despite the doctors' best efforts and Andrzej's determination, his health prognosis is far from optimistic. He's at risk of becoming completely paralyzed for the rest of his life... His body might become his prison, like in the movie: "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly". 

Intense physical therapy in a rehabilitation center is necessary to improve his quality of life and enable him to get his social life back. We need to purchase a ventilator due to his respiratory failure. He would also require a C-Eye® to communicate if he cannot speak. He will also need home adaptations, a specialized bed, and a wheelchair for outdoor use. 

Andrzej is 42. He's a good person and father of a 12-year-old Julia, who needs him more than ever! He's also a caring son and a reliable friend. Until the accident, he was an energetic, active man with a head full of ideas. He was also passionate about playing his guitar. 

He was a member of Wielki Las (en. "Great Forest"), Emeriten Komando, Tofu Riot, and Frei Republik Panama music bands and often played at charitable events for children and the victims of the accidents. He was always compassionate to those who suffered.

Now he is the one who needs help. We never thought we would have to ask for money. WE ARE BEGGING you! Although the total amount required to keep Andrzej alive is estimated, we still won't be able to afford it! Your support is necessary to let Andrzej regain his physical abilities as much as possible.  

Imagine being trapped in a body for the rest of your life without the ability to speak or breathe independently...
