Don't let Down's syndrome be a verdict. Help Andrzej

When Andrzej was born, the doctors left us no doubt: apart from the Down syndrome, our son will experience a significantly limited development of his motor organs, which will make it impossible for him to move independently. We have found out the hard way that systematic hard work and parental love can work wonders. We were determined to ensure that Andrzej could function as well as possible.

We realize that our son's genetic defect is not a sentence. We know that the level of functioning of children with Down's syndrome depends not only on their potential, but also on the amount of time and work that is invested in their development. Our son, due to the reduced muscle tension and development delay, requires constant rehabilitation. Andrzej began to be rehabilitated very early, as early as 2 months of age. It helped him overcome many obstacles, but we still have a long way to go.

Reduced tension also affects the delayed development of speech. Due to the fact that Andrzej's muscles are very flaccid, his speech is incomprehensible, and speech therapy requires a lot of effort.

Our son must be under the constant care of many specialist doctors (surgeon, neurologist, endocrinologist, ophthalmologist, hematologist), and therapists (physiotherapist, psychologist, pedagogue, speech therapist). He was already hospitalized 4 times due to bowel disease and he underwent 3 operations!

Treatment costs increase from year to year. We did what we could, we tried to spend every saved money on the necessary activities. Unfortunately, despite the fact that we both work, at the moment we are no longer able to pay for the required regular therapy.

The helplessness related to the lack of funds for treatment is something that scares us the most. That is why we have to ask for your support. You can help us ensure Andrzej's proper development. We want to do everything possible to make our son independent, and able to cope in his adult life.

When Andrzej smiles, all worries go away. Fear and fatigue disappear, replaced with joy and great hope. Despite the difficult challenges, we will do everything we can to make our child's life as good as possible!

We both work, and we spend all our savings on our son's therapy. Andrzej needs up to 4 participations in rehabilitation camps a year to be able to continue and sustain his development. And this generates really huge costs. That's why we decided to ask for help. Every donation is valuable, even the smallest one will bring us closer to our goal!
