Surgery is the only solution for Antoś… He cannot wait any longer!

Antoś, my beloved son, was a premature baby. Being born on time wasn’t meant for him - he had to fight for health the minute he came into this world… 

In the first week of his life, he was diagnosed with congenital Hirschsprung’s disease. Almost immediately, he underwent colon resection surgery! He was so tiny! It breaks my heart when I think about it…

Six months later, another procedure, intestinal anastomosis (reconnecting the bowel), was required. Over 50% of the large intestine had to be removed!

A week later, due to a complication - an anastomotic leak, he developed sepsis and had to fight for life again! 

I thought this nightmare would never end! I asked myself repeatedly why it had happened to us, but it didn’t make me feel any better. Meanwhile, time passed, and my son’s test results worsened. 

Consequently, Antoś had to undergo another colostomy. Now he must live with an ostomy bag. Watching my four-year-old son being uncomfortable with it and realizing how much pain he suffered is truly heartbreaking. 

The worst thing is that the treatment is not over. I don’t want my son to visit the hospital regularly or undergo surgery every couple of years. His childhood is difficult enough. I don’t want him to suffer when he reaches adolescence!  

The only solution for him to recover is treatment in the USA at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The first appointment was set for April 27. Time is running out to raise the required amount! 

I am a father and would do everything for my son, but some obstacles are difficult to breach. My dream is to save my son, but I know I can’t do it myself. I need to ask you for help. You and your good hearts are all I have left!
