Extend a helping hand to Antoś! The surgery is the only chance!

Antoś was born with atrophy of the radius in both hands, left kidney agenesis and thrombocytopenia. For us, parents, it was a huge shock, because throughout the pregnancy none of the doctors saw the defect of Antoś’s hands. Thrombocytopenia resolved a few days after delivery, while the problem of upper limb defects spells our eyes. We began to look for ways to treat such a defect. NFZ treatment did not give Antoś prospects for improving his ability to function independently. It was difficult to reconcile with the thought that our child is doomed to disability. We didn't give up and looked for help further. And so we appeared for the consultation at the Paley European Institute.

The doctors gave us the hope we were looking for so long. There is a chance that in the future Antoś will have normally working hands. In spite of hope, our joy is a suppressed worry. The operation of Antoś’s hands was valued at nearly PLN 400,000. It is an amount that exceeds many of us, but we, Antoś’s parents, have to collect it. Our child's future depends on it. We believe that together we will be able to accumulate this amount.
