Fundraiser description
It happened in April, on Saturday. Joanne was actively spending time with her husband and daughters, 14-year-old Olivia and 12-years-old Klaudia. She was cleaning and cooking, and she and her husband were about to paint the room of one of their daughters. Suddenly she felt bad and laid down. A moment later, her family heard a noise and rushed to the room to see what happened. It turned out, that Asia lost her consciousness and fell from her bed. She suffered from cardiac arrest. Her heart suddenly stopped beating, without any reason…
Her terrified husband performed CPR on her in front of their teenage daughters… They called 911, and did the best they could to provide her with first aid until the ambulance arrived… No one knew why it had happened… Time was running so slowly. Major cerebral hypoxia occurred…
Within a single day, the happy life of my sister and her family broke apart into a million pieces… The doctors have no idea what caused the cardiac arrest. They have some presumptions, though. It might have been an epileptic seizure. However, Asia has never been sick and has never suffered from any disease. She is a healthy, young woman who is only 35 years old!
Asia was put in a medically induced coma for a week. Some serious neurological complications occurred… After she woke up, the doctors confirmed a crushing diagnosis—brain damage. The prognosis was terrifying. Asia was said to stay in bed for the rest of her life, require 24/7 attention, be tube fed… It came as a shock to us. After all, she was a healthy young woman, a wife, and a mom, enjoying her life, with so many plans and dreams ahead of her… It all just vanished in a blink of an eye…

Luckily, two weeks later, Asia started to regain the ability to move, and the doctor’s predictions became optimistic. She was transferred to the neurology ward.
Currently, the most important milestone for her is to regain consciousness and responsiveness. We need to do our best to help her recover. We are not even sure if she recognizes us, we believe she does, though. Our mom, who has recently suffered from a stroke, and has been staying in the rehabilitation unit, visits her every day… Our family has gone through a lot lately.
There is a long journey ahead for Asia and her family, and only one goal to achieve—to regain the beloved wife, mom, and sister… The only solution is long-term, intensive physical therapy, that will give her hope to bring back what she lost, including her physical and mental abilities.
Asia is such a young person. She cannot be bedridden for the rest of her life! Her two amazing daughters and her husband dream of reuniting with her, and every day they pray for her recovery. When I think of my sister’s health condition that might never improve, the tears are rolling down my cheeks… The girls need their mother, and they miss her.
Unfortunately, our family cannot afford the enormous cost of physical therapy, that is why I am begging for your support! Please, do not be indifferent to the fate of my beloved sister!
