Benio is now 4 years old. For more than two years he has been struggling with drug-resistant epilepsy, which is a difficult disease for such a tiny child. Unfortunately, it soon turned out that the epilepsy is only a symptom of a serious disease - ceroid lipofuscinosis (Batten's disease) i.e. childhood dementia...

It is manifested by the gradual disappearance of various functions and skills: speech, walking, vision... In Poland there are no possibilities of treatment. This condition, left untreated leads to death in early childhood. Benio can no longer go down the stairs alone, he does not speak, and cannot eat on his own. He requires constant care because he suffers from ataxia that causes tremors in his limbs and sudden falls. Our everyday life is extremely difficult, but we know that we cannot give up...

We cannot take this serious illness off our son's shoulders, but we can make his life a little easier.

Our only hope is rehabilitation and special treatments with specialists which can slow down the deterioration of his condition. Benio also needs new car seat, a stroller and braces. Unfortunately, although we would move heaven and earth to help him, we are unable to provide all these things for him, so we decided to ask for your help!
