Fight for a healthy leg - Bruno got a chance, let's not waste it!

Until the day of giving birth, I was glad to welcome a strong, healthy boy to the world. Then I saw my beloved child, and my heart skipped a beat - Bruno's leg was bent at a strange angle, twisted. All the dark thoughts saw the light of day ... Despair lasted a short time, this was replaced by determination - my son's future depended on me! We started a fight that was joined by hundreds of people with wonderful hearts! The next stage is ahead of us. Please - be with us!

The first series of operations were successfully carried out thanks to the previous fundraiser, which was a success! The condition of the leg is good, the doctors were satisfied. The pseudoarthrosis was removed and the tibia straightened. Unfortunately, the leg is now 10 cm shorter. Despite the very good results of the treatment, the shortened limb is still significantly shorter. This is due to the fact that the diseased leg does not grow as fast as the healthy leg and there is a need to remove the pseudoarthrosis within the margin of the changed tissues. Therefore, this is not the end of our fight.

Doctors believe that if we do not take any further action, while Bruno has stopped growing, the difference in the length of the legs could be as much as 18 cm!

During the follow-up visit in February 2021, the doctors decided to start the next process of extending the left lower leg - the date of establishing the fixator was set for September this year. We cannot postpone this operation!

Unfortunately, the cost of the next stage of treatment is close to 35,000 euros. At this present time, I no longer have any financial resources. Although the previous fundraising campaign and the 1% funds actually covered all the costs of earlier surgeries, they only covered some of the costs of the orthoses. During the past year, we had to pay over 11,000 € for orthotics, these expenses have completely wiped our savings. Therefore, we are asking for help again by setting up another fundraiser to fight for Bruno's health and equal legs!

And what does our son's everyday life look like today?

After the surgery and the long-awaited fitting of new orthoses, my son takes advantage of every moment! He has learned to ride a bike - a great achievement for a boy who has never ridden a bicycle. For the first time in his life, he had a wonderful vacation, enjoying the freedom of movement and above all the beach with all its charms. Being able to run, build sandcastles, swim wherever he could. He lost his first milk tooth and… has now gone to school, which he adores!

Looking at my son's happiness today, I know that we chose the right path in order not to lose everything that the surgery gave us. So that all Brunek's pain would not be a waste! That he would finally have equal legs, forever! With all my heart, I am asking for your support for my son's difficult battle.
