Fundraiser description
My name is Damian and I just turned 18. Last year on the last days of summer, on a beautiful sunny day I had an accident at the swimming pool. It was supposed to be a day like any other day, I was about to go to work for the afternoon shift, and yet life wrote a different script for me – definitely not the one I dreamt of… Today I am asking for help, for recovery, which I can regain only thanks to intensive and very expensive rehabilitation.
In one second my life turned upside down, my plans and dreams vanished like a soap bubble. As a result of the accident I lost feeling in my arms and legs. For a young person who is just entering the adult life, such a diagnosis sounds like a sentence... Two surgeries, bedsores – all this caused a delay in the possibility to start rehabilitation in a specialised centre.

Unfortunately, the idle time works to my disadvantage. That is why I have to exercise intensively, and the stay paid by the National Health Fund is just about to end. A stay in a specialised rehabilitation centre with the use of modern technology that I need unfortunately costs a fortune and I and my family cannot afford to pay for it.
I do not know how much I am able to recover from my lost fitness, but I will fight for every move! That is why I am asking you for help so that my life may look, at least partially, as it was before the accident…
An additional obstacle in this difficult fight is the lack of possibility to have direct contact with my family and friends. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the visitors are not allowed. It is a difficult time for all of us, but I am optimistic… I try to be strong and to fight day by day for what only one second took away from me.
I believe in your kindness and thank you very much in advance for any help!
Damian
