When hopes dies, there won’t be anything left. Please help us, our Mum fights for life. We need you!

That’s so unfair… Why her, why our Mum? She tried to lead a healthy lifestyle, but suffered too much stress, which accumulated for years, came to her in the shape of an illness… The cancer proved to be merciless. The cancer didn’t care that she did eveything to stop it from coming. It appeared to be a malicious creature, showing us all that nobody can feel safe.  Please help us to save our Mum. We can’t imagine world without Her…

Five years ago doctors diagnosed a malignant  breast cancer. It was a shock for us, we couldn’t deal with that – that the most important person for us – our Mum came down with  this horrible disease! The person who took care of herself all hr life. Even if she was in pain she avoided pills – ”unnecessary poison”  – she used to say about them. Healthy life, healthy food and… cancer. All that time we still hoped…

We were in Germany, where Mum worked. We thought it was a big plus because people say such bad things about Polish healthcare, so abroad it had to be better! The treatment started. Half a year chemo, radiation, the surgery of breast removal. We were celebrating the victory, the cancer was gone. Mum was under the care of doctors, nothing bad was there to meet Her…

Unfortunately, in November 2018 the cancer was back. It was a drama for us, which is hard to imagine… Mum started having pain in her spine but the doctors didn’t see anything but sciatica. It was suppossed to pass away but was getting worse! Finally, when our Mum couldn’t walk, the doctors started to examine Her more thoroughly. Then, to our horror we learnt that the cancer had already attacked bones making the spine as fragile as the eggshell. It could break any moment! Additionally, the cancer spread all over Her organism.

Liver, bones, breasts… First the doctors took care of Her spine, it needed stabilising with a metal construction. Then chemo, but it didn’t help either. We desperately were looking for help. We knew that we didn’t have much time…   After every refusal the despair was greater and greater.  We heard even that Her condition is palliative which meant that there is no point in treating Her because it might not help. We were to wait for Her death… But how to agree to your closest person’s death?!

Today the biggest problem is a huge inoperable tumor in the liver. The only solution they offer us is a chemo which eventually won’t help as it will damage the liver. The very moment when we were on the verge of breakdown, there appeared hope! The clinic in Dusseldorf uses modern, photodynamic laser therapy. That is the only possibility to remove tumors from Mum’s liver. Fortunatelly we entered the program for the treatment! Now we are in the first stage – the strenghtening of the immune system with the injectins. The cost is enormous… Later the doctors will remove the tumors. We must hurry.

On one hand, joy that the hope appeared, we have a goal to fight for! Unfortunately, The National Healthcare won’t finance the therapy and we need to pay for it by ourselves. But the problem is we don’t have enough money. So far we have paid for Mum’s treatment with the family savings so that Mum could take first injections. The funds are now gone. We are so scared that this luck of money will deprive our Mum the chance to overcome cancer, the chance to live...

Our Mum has always helped people disinterestedly, we don’t know any other person with such a great heart. And we don’t write that only because this is our Mum! That’s the truth and all our life we took Her as a pattern. We are hoping that the good She has done to people will come back to Her this very moment when She needs this the most... We beg you to help save the most important person in our life.
