UKRAINIAN HOUSE
Let us together create a UKRAINIAN HOUSE for 200 children and their mothers who escaped from the hell of war in Ukraine!
Fundraiser description
Fear, tears and a sense of helplessness. These are the feelings they face every day. They have no plans for tomorrow. They have no hope for a prompt return to their homes. Often they don't even have any homes anymore.
That is why we want to create a home for them in the heart of Wrocław. A safe Ukrainian House. He will give shelter to 200 children and women who escaped form the hell of war in Ukraine. Please join us!
Every day Denys, Tymofii, Julia, Irina, Tetiana and Olena wake up and go to sleep with great fear. Is it today that the tragic news of the death of another loved one who lost his life in the fight for a free Ukraine will come? Each of them dream of returning to their homeland. We cannot make their dream come true, but we want to give them a substitute for a homeland here in Poland. The Ukrainian House will be their shelter on the way to a better life.
Huge costs – high hopes
The Ukrainian House is being built in the center of Wrocław. The building in which it will be located for many years functioned as an office building. Today it is a regular construction site - several dozen people work here 24 hours a day. Bathrooms and kitchens are being created from zero, while beds, mattresses and desks are being brought in. The building is huge - it has five floors and over 5,000 square meters of space. The most important thing was to carefully plan what will be where. On the ground floor – a dining room. On the floors above - cozy rooms for families and shared relaxation rooms. There are also classrooms in which the Ukrainian teachers will work with children - namely a real school. And if the need appears, a kindergarten for younger children will also be set up here.
We want children from Ukraine to regain their sense of security, which is why we provide them with psychological and pedagogical care. We also organize sports activities, educational workshops and various entertainment events to simply cheer up our little pupils.
Let's give the Ukrainian children a sense of security
The first group to find care in the Ukrainian House are young footballers from Ukraine. Sixty-seven boys from Kiev came with their coaches to the football tournament, crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border an hour before the outbreak of the war. The children could not be sent back to their country bombed by Russia, so the ZOBACZ MNIE (NOTICE ME) Foundation took them under its care three days after the attack. Most of the boys were also joined by their mothers, grandmothers and siblings. All of them have found a temporary safe haven. The Ukrainian House is to give them a sense of security for longer!
In the Ukrainian Refugee Home, refugees will be able to feel safe. We believe that here, in the little Ukraine in the heart of hospitable Wrocław, they will find a place where they will boldly start taking their first steps in the new reality.
The challenge is huge. Renovation, annual maintenance costs for the entire building, food and daily shopping expenses… The list of needs seems to have no end.
That is why we are asking you for help and support right now.
