Acute leukemia has attacked little Dorothy! Help her win the most important battle!

On June 2, our once energetic and cheerful daughter was rushed to the emergency room in a critical condition. Three days later, we received the worst diagnosis ever - acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Although she's been bravely undergoing another chemo, the path to recovery is still long and rough. Please support our difficult but life-saving battle! 

The cruel disease developed almost overnight. At the end of April, during a dance lesson, Dorothy tore a muscle. We took her to the doctor, who did a blood test. Due to low hemoglobin levels, we were ordered to change Dorothy's diet and put her on iron supplements. We didn't expect to face an upcoming, dramatic turn of events, though. 

A few weeks later, we heard a horrifying diagnosis. One day, after Dorothy woke up and ate breakfast, she told us her tongue and hand had become numb. After one hour, she spoke words that made no sense, didn't recognize us or objects around her, and became disoriented. We were terrified! 

In the hospital, we were told that her hemoglobin levels had dropped drastically low, and if it wasn't for our quick decision to rush her to the hospital, she could have died due to inadequate oxygen supply to her body! Dorothy underwent a blood transfusion, and on the same day, an ambulance transported her to the Hematology Clinic in Wrocław, where she's been staying until today. 

Our daughter has a 2-year-long chemotherapy ahead of her, which means we must prepare for a long and exhausting fight for recovery, followed by an expensive rehabilitation. She might also face chemo side effects. 

Watching Dorothy bravely go through the treatment makes us proud and gives us hope for the best. However, we are worried about the expenses - medications in between chemo cycles and expensive dressings for peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) that leads to Dorothy's heart.
