One moment led to a tragedy. Help me to recover after the accident!

My name is Dzmitry. I have recently turned 36 and so far my life has been going as planned. I’m a happy husband and father of three. Family has always been the most important to me and that’s why I’ve tried to spend as much time as possible with them. In an instance all that was taken away from me.

In August 2020 I took part in a manifestation against unlawful presidential elections in Belarus. In a blink of an eye one tragic event occurred changed my life completely. Right next to me a bang grenade exploded. As a consequence, I suffered a fracture of the metatarsal bone and left lower leg.

In September 2020 I received shelter at Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God convent in Katowice. There, at the orthopedics department I was provided with
medical care and detailed diagnostics. The further course of treatment was also decided. I continued it at the rehabilitation department and later at the Hospitallers Medical Center in Warsaw. The separation from my family seemed to be endless.

After five long months I could finally see my wife and children. We decided to rent a flat in Warsaw together, so that I could continue my rehabilitation. Regular exercises allow me to slowly regain mobility. I do realize, however, that the road to full recovery and normal functioning is long and demanding. That’s why I kindly ask you to help me gather the money for further rehabilitation. I believe that soon enough I will overcome all obstacles and start living just as before. My family supports me very much and counts on me. I can’t disappoint them!
