Time is running out, and I don’t know how to tell my daughter I will have to say goodbye soon…

Edyta is 45 years old and has a beloved daughter Olivia and a husband, Marcin. For seven years, she has been struggling with myeloma, a blood cancer that causes damage to her bones.

Unfortunately, Edyta has already used every affordable treatment option in Poland. However, they haven’t been effective. 

An expensive CAR T-cell therapy is the last resort for Edyta - her life is estimated for over 1.9 million zlotys. 

CAR T-cell therapy uses the immune system and advanced genetic engineering to fight cancer with genetically modified lymphocytes. 

It might prolong life and even cure cancer in those who have run out of treatment options. It is non-refundable, though. 

We are friends of Edyta, and we will not let the disease take her away from us!

A few words from Edyta:

I am opening up about my disease for the first time. Although I do not feel comfortable sharing such intimate details, I cannot wait any longer. 

It's the same thing with cancer, my deadly enemy...

In 2015, an ordinary arm pain changed my life forever. I found out that I had myeloma. Unfortunately, the disease is in progress, and it has been causing more and more damage to my body. 

I want to love, watch my daughter grow up, take care of my mom, walk my dog... Just live! 

When you are thirty-something years old, and the doctor says you have three years left to live, it is hard to wrap your head around it. But then, you pull yourself together and fight. Now I am 45 and have gone through so much already... I will not surrender, though. I still believe that one day I will wake up from this nightmare! 

My daughter Olivia is 12, and she needs me more than ever. 

How am I supposed to say goodbye to her?... 

I used to have a peaceful life - a home, job, vacations...

Now I am fighting to survive another day, the month, the year... 

My reality is staying in the oncology unit, undergoing chemo therapies and treatments, taking medications that wear me down, and trying to live as normally as possible... Experiencing pain and paralyzing fear on a regular basis! 

I am taken care of by amazing doctors from Poznan, who give me hope to survive. That hope has a price, though - over 1.5 million zlotys. 

It is an unbelievable amount of money, but I DO NOT WANT TO DIE!!! 

Dear Donors, thank you all so much for the support that you have offered me. It is uplifting to receive so many heartfelt gestures! Unfortunately, CAR T-cell therapy is expensive. 

I must ask you for support yet again. Any donation matters! For me, it is a matter of life and death - literally!
