Fundraiser description
Emilka needs your help once again! She’s facing her fourth and most critical heart surgery yet. It must take place in Stanford, the very place that once gave her a chance to live. But treatment in the U.S. comes at an enormous cost — one we simply can’t cover on our own. That’s why we’re asking you, from the bottom of our hearts, to help us once again.
We’ve been living in fear for Emilka’s life since the 22nd week of pregnancy, when we learned that our baby girl had a life-threatening heart defect.
We were told her life would be filled with hospitals and surgeries, that her prognosis was uncertain, and that she might not live to see her second birthday...
We cried, we felt helpless, we were angry. But one thing was certain — we would do everything in our power to save her.

Her first surgery came when she was just 3 months old. Sadly, it brought no improvement, and doctors in Poland told us there was nothing more they could do. It was a devastating blow — but we didn’t give up. We immediately began searching for help abroad.
Stanford was the only place that offered Emilka a real chance at life.
But the cost of the surgery there was staggering — over 6 million PLN (approx. $1.5 million). We started a fundraiser, and thanks to the overwhelming support of our family, friends, and thousands of kind-hearted people, we raised over 3 million PLN!
Halfway through the campaign, we received the amazing news that the Polish National Health Fund would cover the surgery, and the funds we had raised could go toward Emilka’s future treatment. It was a huge relief — but the real stress was just beginning as surgery day approached.

Just before her first birthday, we traveled to Stanford, where Emilka underwent an 18-hour heart reconstruction surgery. The wait felt endless, our minds flooded with fear. But the operation was a success — or so we thought. Just four weeks later, Emilka had to undergo another emergency surgery — her left lung was in critical condition.
After three long months of treatment, we finally returned home. We knew then that another surgery would be necessary in 3 to 4 years. That time has now come. Following thorough testing and consultations with specialists in both Poland and Stanford, we’ve made the difficult decision to launch this fundraiser and fight once more for our daughter’s life.

Emilka is a bright, affectionate little girl — full of life and joy. You’d never guess how much she’s already been through. Now, she’s preparing for her fourth, most complex and demanding surgery. But this operation could give her a real chance at a healthy life.
We need your help. We can’t do this without you. Every donation truly matters. Thank you for standing with us once again.
With all our hearts,
Emilka’s parents
