The constant fire in Felix's head destroys his childhood! Help!

It hurts so much.  It hurts to know that we alone are not able to help our child. Our five-year-old son Felix suffers from autoimmune based encephalitis. This means that its own defense system attacks the brain tissue, mistaking it for infection.

This leads to a chronic inflammation of the brain and, in the long term, to its irreversible damage. Although he was born and developed normally, he was never able to learn to speak or play with his peers. The constant fire in his head does not allow him to function normally.

Felix should start immunoglobulin therapy as soon as possible. We are unable to get reimbursed treatment. The large number of patients and the limited availability of funds makes it difficult, and delaying treatment only worsens the condition of our son.

Private immunoglobulin infusions are possible, but the cost is enormous. One application costs PLN 25,000 (€5,500)! We feel powerless and we want to help our child so much. Please don't let this disease take over his life!
