Boiling oil burned 40% of Gabryś’s body! Please help him fight for recovery!

We can still hear in our sleep that terrible scream coming from our son’s throat, although it really happened! A while ago, Gabryś burnt himself with scalding oil. A momentary lack of attention resulted in a horrible tragedy. We are asking for your support! We need to fight for Gabryś’s future. 

Almost 40% of his body burned. The wounds were deep. They made our son cry since he was in pain. They made us cry as well! He spent a long time in a hospital, where he underwent several surgical procedures (skin grafts). Meanwhile, he suffered from infections—staph, and blue pus bacillus, to name a few, that made the treatment less effective.

I guess the most difficult time we went through was at the very beginning after the accident. 

Every breath caused pain. And then there was the changing of the dressings, which covered most of our son’s body… 

Gabryś has a protein deficiency and should be on a high-protein diet. However, he is allergic to protein… That is why every wound or surgery brings an enormous challenge since Gabryś’s body heals much slower due to that macronutrient deficiency. Meanwhile, almost half of our son’s body required curing! 

In time, some scars appeared, and they will always remind us of the drama that happened two years ago. Although so much time has passed, our struggle continues. Gabryś requires treatment and special scar creams that smooth down the scar tissue. We also need dressings, pressure garments, and specialized therapy. Their cost is enormous, though…

We could afford the treatment. However, we are slowly running out of resources to purchase the medications and ointments for our son. We cannot choose one medication over another since Gabriel requires them all to recover! This is the reason we are here today, and we ask for your help….

We cannot turn back time, although I would do everything to go back in time and prevent the tragedy… Our son had to suffer so much… And yet he is so brave! I believe that he will make it if we help him! His future depends on our present efforts. There is a long journey ahead of us, but I know it will only get better. It has to… Gabryś deserves it!
