Hip surgery as a rescue for our Hania. Help needed!

Hania is a happy and joyful 14-year-old girl who makes everyone around her smile. Those who met her know it perfectly well. However, instead of running, singing and getting to know the world with her peers from the neighborhood – fate wanted something else...

Hania is not able to walk, sit and speak. All of this is caused by a congenital brain malformation, microcephaly and drug-resistant epilepsy. Our little daughter needs us at every moment of her brave life. We accept Hania with all her imperfections. She constantly moves us and surprises us. She taught us to appreciate every moment spent together and find joy in the most ordinary things. We admire her for her patience and for how persistently she bears with her limitations, not even being able to complain in the other way than crying. Over the years we have visited many specialists in Poland and abroad, 13 different neurologists are just some of them. To this day, we have not known the causes of our child's disease and the final diagnosis.

For 14 years, our greatest goal has been the happiness and comfort of our daughter and her pain-free life. Our biggest fear currently is Hania's dislocated hip and scoliosis, which is progressing due to growing up. We know there is a necessity of hip surgery, without it the progressive deformations may cause a serious threat to key internal organs, what may be crucial not only for health, but even Hania's life.

Complex pre- and postoperative care is possible in few centers only, but we have found such a place. In the German orthopedic clinic in Aschau, doctors qualified Hania for the surgery, which cost they estimated as over 100,000 PLN. This amount is unbearable for us, and there will also be additional costs of medical transport, orthopedic equipment and post-operative rehabilitation.

As parents, we are determined and we will not give up in the fight for the health of our daughter, but we need your help – we kindly ask for it.
