Help Cambodia survive the pandemic!
Fundraiser goal: "Survival Kits" for Cambodian families during a pandemic
Fundraiser goal: "Survival Kits" for Cambodian families during a pandemic
Fundraiser description
The organisation Smiling Gecko Cambodia brings relief to one of the most underprivileged regions in Cambodia. In a country where education lasts two years on average, Smiling Gecko founded a school where besides classes, children are provided with meals, access to clean water, clothes, and learning aids. Smiling Gecko runs a school, is overseeing farmland, has built sports fields, a fish farm, a carpentry workshop, and a hotel. The objective is to help the local community get up on its feet and make it self-sustainable.

The real scale of pandemic remains unknown as far too few tests are conducted in Cambodia to make their results reliable.
In the wake of pandemic, schools had to be closed. Children in care of Smiling Gecko have lost access to education, food, water and learning aids.

As the situation deteriorated, we began to distribute the so-called “survival kits” to the local community. Kits include food, drinking water, detergents and personal protection equipment essential in times of pandemic. The cost of a “survival kit” is US $35 per family.
We need help to finance kits for children attending the school in Tbeng Khpous in Kâmpóng Chhnăng province whose families have lost their source of income in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
