There was a wedding, a reception, a first job after college, and many plans for the future! Everything was going in the right direction and according to plan - like it's supposed to when you are 26! Unfortunately, that perfect life was interrupted by the most terrible diagnosis... No one was prepared for a scenario straight from a nightmare...
Hubert has stage 4 diffuse glioblastoma multiforme. Due to its location
deep in the left hemisphere, it cannot be removed entirely. The only solution to remove most of the tumor and keep healthy brain tissues intact is the NanoTherm therapy - an injection of a solution containing iron oxide nanoparticles directly into the postoperative bed (on the wall of tissues surrounding the resection cavity).
During a series of postoperative treatments, the NanoActivator device treats the affected area with an alternating magnetic field that causes the nanoparticles to generate heat, which destroys the "leftover" tumor cells directly or makes them sensitive to any therapy, e.g., radio- or chemotherapy.
Such therapy is available at the Polish hospital in Lublin (Samodzielny Publiczny Szpital Kliniczny Nr 4).
The nanotherapy is currently the only chance of surviving glioblastoma. If we want Hubert to undergo the treatment as soon as possible, we must pay for it. The cost is ca. 210,000 zlotys...
Hubert is only 26 and has just graduated from college, started a professional career, and got married. Due to the right hemiplegia resulting from cancer, he had to give up his dream job, though.
Hubert and Edyta are a young married couple who cannot afford the expensive treatment, and sadly, there are more expenses ahead of them... Immunotherapy is required after NanoTherm therapy to destroy the residual cancer cells. It is available in the hospital in Sosnowiec and costs 200,000 zlotys.
Our fundraiser for cancer therapies is the only chance to save Hubert's health and life! Time is running out! The sooner we collect the required amount, the quicker the surgery is scheduled!
