Either surgery or lung removal! 14-year-old Igor's fighting for health! Help! 

Our son had to fight for his health long before he could even walk or speak. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex heart defect, right after he was born. Since the latest examination results showed left pulmonary artery stenosis, he's at risk of having a pneumonectomy! The only chance to save the lung is a complex and expensive surgery in the USA. We are asking for support for our brave son! 

Igor was born on January 3, 2010.  Our seemingly strong and healthy baby was diagnosed with a heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot several hours after birth, and he required several surgeries! Our joy quickly turned into fear for his life. This news made us weak at the knees!

We couldn't believe it, especially when none of the prenatal test results had shown abnormalities. We had no other choice but to start a battle for his health and life. When he was only four days old, he underwent his first cardiac surgery. 

He was so tiny and innocent! Sadly, the procedure failed, and on January 24, another one took place. This time, Igor suffered acute respiratory failure. The doctors fought for his life over the next three weeks. Two months after his birth, we were happy to finally take our baby boy home, although we knew the battle for his health hadn't finished.

On December 30, 2010, we returned to the hospital for another surgery, which, despite complications, was successful, and allowed Igor to continue to achieve further developmental milestones. 

On the third anniversary of the first procedure, Igor underwent a long-awaited congenital heart defect surgery. Although we were anxious, we knew the surgery was necessary. Thankfully, it turned out to be successful, too! In June 2013, Igor had a balloon pulmonary angioplasty of the left pulmonary artery, after which we could finally focus on improving his physical abilities. 

After three peaceful years, in 2016, we found out that Igor's left pulmonary artery was still narrowed, and another surgery was required. Also, his left leg was underdeveloped due to a blocked artery! Our son had to undergo another procedure. He was only six years old and had already gone through so much!  

In November 2021, a pulmonary valve replacement and left pulmonary artery plasty took place. Unfortunately, a bronchus injury that occurred during the surgery resulted in impaired respiratory function and two cases of pneumonia. 

The worst news came at the end of last year, though. The doctors told us that Igor suffered from a total occlusion of the left pulmonary artery! A pulmonary artery collateral circulation now provides an alternative route for blood flow for the blocked pulmonary artery. However, if we don't take further action, Igor's lung will be removed! 

Igor's condition is life-threatening. During his last hospital stay, he developed a dangerous, acute pneumonia. Moreover, the latest test results showed a right pulmonary artery stenosis! 

The only solution for Igor's full recovery is a non-refundable, expensive cardiac surgery - Pulmonary Artery Reconstruction - at Stanford Clinic in the United States. Although it costs over 7 million zlotys, it is a life-saving operation for Igor! 

We will never be able to collect such an enormous amount ourselves! We must ask you for donations! We want our son to live like an average 14-year-old boy - without the need to see doctors all the time, spend time in the hospital, or restrictions resulting from his disease. We don't want his future to be a question mark.
