A split second was all it took for a tragic accident to occur! Help Iza get her health and mobility back!

On 22 August 2025, our lives suddenly stopped. Late at night, we received a phone call from the police. They called to inform us about an accident. Iza was riding her bike on a bicycle path when she had a collision with a cyclist riding from the opposite direction. She was unconscious when they transported her to hospital where she was taken to surgery in critical condition.

The surgery lasted for couple hours and it turned out that she suffered traumatic brain injury. For a long time they were telling us only the one thing: “it is a serious brain injury, we have to wait, there is nothing more we can do”. The fight for Iza’s life started and it has been going on for over 5 months. 

Currently Iza is in a long-term care facility. She still requires oxygen therapy, enteral feeding and catheterisation. There is a little progress: she reacts to the touch, opens and moves her eyes, clenches her fists. However, there is a long, difficult and very expensive treatment and a multi-stage specialized rehabilitation ahead of her. 

The only chance to regain mobility is trough placement in a specialist rehabilitation facility which is private. The monthly cost of accommodation is 25-40 thousand zlotys. Additionally, we will have to replace the medical equipment on our own: tracheotomy tube, urinary catheter, enteral nutrition kit. Each of them costs approximately 5 thousand zlotys. 

Iza has to learn how to do activities that used to be natural for her. Everyone remembers her as a smiling and a fit woman. She loved riding a bike, doing yoga and sailing. She devoted a large part of her life to these passions.  

She has a soul of a sportswoman and we know that she is fighting with all her power to regain mobility! Without you, we do not stand a chance. Only with your help, Iza can get back to her previous life. Please, help us!
