"Mommy, why me? I can't stand the pain anymore... I can't make it until the surgery! " - the words of our seven-year-old daughter tear our hearts apart. The pain is increasing every day - it can be unbearable ... Surgery of a dislocated hip was planned for May, but due to the coronavirus pandemic and lack of funds it has been suspended. However, our child's suffering continues still...

When one of our family's dramas ended we didn't think that we would have to face another one so soon after. A few years ago our older daughter was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After two years in oncology, we were told that the doctors suspected a recurrence. I was already pregnant with Jagódka at that time. Fortunately the recurrence did not happen, but the stress of the whole situaton did most likely do some damage…
Jagódka was born prematurely and was forced to fight from the very beginning. First for her life, lying in the ICU for newborns and unable to be hugged by her mother. Surrounded by cables, she lay alone in the incubator. Connected to the respirator, she caught every breath - she wanted to live so badly ...
When the immediate threat to her life passed, it soon turned out that life set her another very difficult and painful obstacle - due to being prematurely born, our daughter suffers from four-limb cerebral palsy. Every day she is confined to a wheelchair, she cannot stand up independently, cannot sit on her own, cannot eat by herself, she needs our support in almost every activity. It's very difficult to understand for a small child...

When Jagoda was four years old she began to move with the help of a walker. We were happy that our little daughter might have a chance at independence. Unfortunately, very quickly all our hopes were brutally trampled, because it turned out that the condition of the hip was worsening!
The acetabulum surrounding the hip did not develop properly and the bone went beyond its shell. Added to this is pathological muscle tension caused by hypoxia damage to the brain. The pain is unbearable! The head of the hip bone rubs against the pelvis and the nerves come out on top. Every touch causes Jagoda unbelievable suffering. You can't do anything - it hurts, you can't sit down - it hurts. You can't even talk about Jagoda taking independent steps ...The only way to get relief is by hip femur osteotomy, during which doctors reassemble the pelvis in the correct way. Are we afraid of this operation? Very much so! However, we have no choice, because it is the only chance for Jagódka to live without pain and have a chance at walking independently ...

We cannot let our daughter suffer any longer. Seeing her pain is the worst thing we have to deal with. What kind of parents would we be if we gave up? How could we sleep peacefully knowing that we had not done everything possible for our daughter? We will fight until we have enough strength. Please help free Jagódka from suffering...
