Hi ;-)

I am Kuba - a 17-year-old with a head full of dreams ... Apparently only 17 years old, but I have experienced a lot in my life. I was born - as it is written - to be a healthy baby weighing almost 4.5 kilos. I was also tall - 61 centimeters.

With the passage of time, however - as they say, "the farther into the forest" - the more doctors found something for me ... I had not finished a year yet, and we already knew (I might not, but my Parents did) that I could hardly see...

Two days before my third birthday, they put in a dialysis catheter - because my kidneys refused to cooperate ... The only solution was a transplant. Three months after my fourth birthday, I got a kidney - from my Mother - I was very lucky.

Shortly after the transplant - the doctors added Asperger’s syndrome to the "list of talents" of my body :-) After collecting the above all - geneticists added their proverbial 3 cents - Jeune syndrome was confirmed - chest dysplasia. And so one folding with the other - my legs could not handle it :-(

Many doctors looked at them, made diagnoses and proposed treatment (one even ordered me to buy a dog - in the sense that when I run, I will lose weight and maybe legs will straighten themselves). However, it always ended with one thing - let's leave it while I'm still walking. Eventually there was a chance to put an external braces on the legs to straighten and lengthen them, but there was also "but" ...

I am transplanted, taking anti-rejection medicines and steroids. Unfortunately, steroids in open wounds, such as with external devices that stretch the bones, are a high risk of bone inflammation for me :-( The question, more importantly - the kidney or the legs?

And so my mother dragged me from doctor to doctor, from office to office, until we ended up at the Paley European Institute in Warsaw. After consulting Doctor Paley, I learned that my legs have a chance to be straight and even :-) Straightening without braces, but with a "sharp cut", as the Doctor said - that is thanks to surgery - and then lengthening the left leg using a special periosteal nail. Two operations are waiting for me, but there is hope that I will finally stand on my legs so that my knees do not hit each other :-)

And of course, as it always happens - "BUT" appears in my life ... So the COST ESTIMATE, in the case of the first operation, worth almost 300,000 zlotys ... Additionally, commuting to Warsaw and living there for almost two months ... It's a lot ...

I will fight bravely, but please help me collect the money so that I can have straight legs like my white cane :-)
