He went into a sudden cardiac arrest during a procedure! The consequences are dramatic... HELP!

It was supposed to be a regular, planned procedure – dad was to be back home the same day. I spoke with him in the morning, and then, later on, the biggest nightmare for our family started. During the lumbar decompression surgery, there was a tragedy! 

His heart suddenly slowed down and it resulted in cerebral hypoxia. The doctors were fighting for dad’s life. For a long time he was in a coma, went through sepsis several times, and his condition was critical.

After six months of fighting in the ICU, his condition started improving. Currently, he is in a minimally conscious state but he needs an intensive rehabilitation to be able to slowly regain his mobility.

Unfortunately, waiting time for an opening in a clinic that specializes in caring for this type of patients is very long and we do not have time… Rehabilitation is needed as soon as possible. However, the cost of a private and specialist care for fifteen months is enormous. 

Dad was diagnosed with coexisting conditions. His Hodgkin’s lymphoma has been in remission after chemo- and radiotherapy. When he was in a rehabilitation centre, he had pneumonia and fungal lung disease. Further hospitalisation was necessary. 

Dad is in hospital again, there are months of treatment ahead of him, and during this time, we need to arrange accommodation for him in a specialist centre. For this reason, on behalf of dad, our family and me, I am asking for support. Each zloty gets us closer to our goal and gives hope that he will be back sooner!
