I have to fight against cancer once again❗️Please, help me❗️

My name is Janek and I am 21 years old. A couple years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer – diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Unfortunately, the tests conducted this May showed recurrence. 

There is a possibility to defeat this disease – an advanced therapy that will allow me to regain health and resume my life. Unfortunately, in my case, this therapy is not reimbursed by the National Health Fund of Poland and I have to cover the entire cost of it myself. The amount is enormous and together with my family, we decided to start a fundraiser and ask for your help. 

It was 2022 when I started experiencing some disturbing symptoms. I felt dizzy and had headaches and vision problems. A neurologist referred me for an MRI scan which revealed lesions around the cerebellum. Unfortunately, due to their locations, biopsy was too risky and it was difficult to reach the right diagnosis. I started steroid therapy and, as it turned out later, it seemed to work. The lesions almost disappeared. 

Unfortunately, in October 2023, not long after I started higher education, the symptoms were back. Test results revealed recurrence. After a biopsy conducted in Bydgoszcz, the diagnosis was reached: diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) of the central nervous system. I underwent chemotherapy and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It seemed that the disease had been defeated and in 2024 I started higher education again. Everything was slowly getting back to normal. 

For a couple of months, I had been tested regularly and everything seemed to be fine. In May, some unpleasant symptoms appeared again. I had an epileptic attack that led to broken bones in my chest. I was admitted to hospital again only to learn that the cancer came back.

I have already finished one chemotherapy cycle and the next ones are planned. On the basis of the cancer’s response to the treatment, the doctors will either transplant cells from a donor or use an advanced CAR-T therapy that is not reimbursed. It is possible that both methods will be applied. Unfortunately, due to the enormous cost – about 1 million zlotys – I cannot afford this therapy.
