Many diagnoses – one child. Help little Julek in this fight for his health!

When Julek started kindergarten, I noticed that something was not right. He could not fit in with the group and he felt uncomfortable. He was also complaining about the pain in his legs which was getting stronger. I started looking for help believing that it could not be very serious. 

The diagnoses fell on us like an avalanche – ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome, Stickler syndrome... He also has sensory and auditory processing disorders. Our world was falling apart and I started the most difficult fight – the fight for my child’s health. 

Stickler’s syndrome causes serious mobility restrictions and joint pain is unbearable. My heart aches when I see my son suffering so much. The disease has an impact on his spine. It results in scoliosis and makes his daily functioning more difficult.

In Julek’s case, there are also defects in his face structure which cause difficulties with breathing and feeding. Julek has also serious problems with speaking – we find it difficult to understand him and sometimes I have to guess what he needs. 

He needs constant support of adults when it comes to daily activities such as moving around, dressing up or hygiene. Julek finds it difficult to express emotions, there are also issues with concentration. Each change in the surroundings is extremely stressful for him. 

Julek needs constant multi-specialist care, i.e. cardiologist, geneticist, ophthalmologist as well as intensive rehabilitation. It is the only hope when it comes to his proper development. I will do anything to provide Julek with a good and safe future. Unfortunately, I cannot do this on my own. 

Julek has a brother and a younger sister, a I, as a Mum, have to take care of each of my wonderful children. For this reason, I am asking for your support. Your support gives Julek a chance at a good future and better life!
