Fundraiser goal: A stay in a rehabilitation center
Fundraiser description
Our son, Kacper, is 23 and loves sports and an active lifestyle. Unfortunately, he lost it in a second, and his organized life fell apart. He's now fighting to regain his abilities so that the accident can turn into an unpleasant memory one day.
August 16, 2023, is the worst date in our lives. That day, Kacper fell from 5 meters, suffering from multiple injuries, including Th10 and Th12 spinal fractures and paralysis of the lower limbs. An energetic man of many hobbies became a hospital patient fighting for life and health.

He underwent a spine surgery that lasted for hours. After the procedure, he was put in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator for several days. He had breathing difficulties, pulmonary edema, broken ribs and sternum. It wasn't until his condition became fair that he was transferred to the rehabilitation clinic, where he's been staying until today.
He puts a lot of physical effort into his daily rehabilitation, as directed by the doctors and therapists. He wants to reach his goal - to regain his independence and life before the accident. Unfortunately, the insurance-covered physical therapy is not enough to achieve a full recovery.

Our son was passionate about sports and a healthy lifestyle. He transferred an old room into a gym, where he trained with his friends. His dreams, plans, and passions changed in a battle to regain the lost fitness. Thankfully, he never gives up, no matter what!
Thanks to the rehabilitation program, we can finally see the progress! However, that's just the beginning.

There is a long path to recovery ahead of him that includes long and expensive physical therapy, which is crucial in the first months after the accident when the spine is regenerating. Restoring walking abilities is possible thanks to muscular compensation (utilizing healthy muscles to supplement paralyzed muscles, which indirectly contributes to the recovery of the latter).
Sadly, Kacper's clinic stay has come to an end. Since the treatment must be continued, we must do our best to transfer him to the rehabilitation center. Its monthly cost is 20,000 ZLOTYS! He will require long-term therapy, home adaptation when he leaves the facility and specialized rehabilitation equipment. Those are unexpected expenses that we cannot afford.

We are asking you for support from the bottom of our hearts. We would appreciate any donation or share! Your help is precious to us. We know that your great hearts can work a miracle! Please offer Kacper one of them - we wish he could stand on his own feet again!
