My little son Kacper was born on December 6, 2020. It was the happiest day of my life. I remember holding him in my arms, hugging him tightly, and being so joyful that he was finally with me. I was afraid for his life because the birth started much too early – at 36 weeks. Unfortunately, my happiness did not last long... It turned out that Kacper is seriously ill – he was diagnosed with Down syndrome.

The entire pregnancy went smoothly. No one ever suggested to me that my son could be born ill. The diagnosis was a huge shock to me. In one second, I felt as if I was losing everything. I was overwhelmed by incredible fear and terror about whether I could cope, whether I would be able to properly take care of my son, and what our future would look like?

After birth, Kacper had persistent jaundice, which required us to stay in the hospital longer. Unfortunately, during the stay, he caught an infection and developed pneumonia. The following weeks were a fight for his health. Soon we returned home and tried to find our way in this new reality. Since then, we have been constantly under medical supervision. Kacper needs many visits to specialists: a cardiologist, endocrinologist, and neurologist. I regularly attend rehabilitation sessions with him, which support his development and mobility.

Unfortunately, treatment, trips for medical consultations, and necessary medical equipment consume a lot of money, which I increasingly find myself lacking. I do everything in my power to ensure Kacper receives proper care, which is why I am coming to ask for your help today. I can no longer afford to cover all the costs out of my own pocket. Every złoty will be worth its weight in gold to me.
