A little heart in our hands! Save Kajtek!

The day we found out that our son will be born with a serious heart disease, was the worst day in our entire lives. We haven’t had a clue what it is and what the diagnosis meant for both our son – Kajtek, and us. We were absolutely terrified, but we knew that we will do everything in our power to save him!

Kajtek was diagnosed with Fallot’s tetralogy syndrome, which causes heart structure abnormalities. If Kajtek was born 30 or 40 years ago, he would have had no chances of surviving. However today, we know we can save him. The only way to do it is to undergo a complicated operation in February! Our son is only 2 months old now and he already had an anoxaemic attack. If we wait any longer, his heart disease can lead to different organ failures and hypoxia. We know that we can end this nightmare, but the price for the operation is currently out of our reach. That’s why we need your help to save our son.

Over the past months we have researched multiple clinics, consulted multiple experts and finally decided to leave our son’s life in the hands of doctors from Hopitaux Universitaires in Geneva. Swiss doctors gave us a lot of confidence and guaranteed the operation to be a success. What really lifted our sprits was the fact that this operation might be the only one in Kajtek’s life!

At this point we hit the wall, a financial wall… We are still gathering all the expenses and documentation regarding the operation, but so far the costs for medical transport, operation and hospitalisation are somewhere between 300 – 500 thousands polish zlotys (~£60-100k)… Half a million for a new-born’s life, so that he could have a chance to live a normal life… We are not able to gather so much money in such a short time, therefore the only way to save our son is to kindly ask each and everyone of you to support us however you can!

We are determined to save our son’s life and we will do everything in our power to do it. Every day we admire his little looks, smiles, yawns, his little feet and hands. Knowing that we are fighting against time to save Kajtek is absolutely nerve-racking. Nevertheless, we are not losing hope and definitely now giving up! We know that together we can win this fight!
