Kamil became a shadow of his former self❗️Help him win with brain tumour❗️

Kamil has a soul of a sportsman! He played spent two seasons playing for a local basketball club. He was ill very rarely – he was a picture of health! Nothing prepared us for the diagnosis that our son received in January...

We think that the first symptom might have appeared during last summer holidays. Kamil told was seeing a little pink spot on yellow objects and on the screen of a mobile phone...We scheduled an appointment with an ophthalmologist and after a complex examination, the doctor did not notice any abnormalities, there was only a slight sight defect in one of the eyes.

Then, we went to an optometrist and Kamil chose glasses for himself. He used to wear them mainly at school. In October, we were concerned because he had rapidly lost some weight. He dropped about 5 kg. However, his blood test results were quite good...

Kamil started gradually limiting his sports activity and spent more and more time at home which was very unusual! After the new year, our family and friends also suggested that there is something wrong with Kamil – he was too calm and visibly thinner. We went to a paediatrician again and he referred us to hospital. 

Kamil was registered in children’s hospital in Bydgoszcz on January 4. He was examined by all specialists and on January 9, he was to be discharged. However, we noticed that he often felt thirsty so it was suggested that this might be caused by diabetes insipidus. He had an MRI scan and on January 10 our world fell apart!

The scan revealed 3 tumours in the pineal region – Kamil had been attacked by brain cancer! A couple of days later, he had a shunt placed in order to treat hydrocephaly and a chemotherapy cycle was started. Currently, we are waiting for the tumours to shrink... At this point surgery is impossible due to their size and localization.

We are looking for help for our Kamil everywhere – in Poland and abroad. I would do anything in order for our son to regain his health and joy of life. We are begging for your support, we cannot do it without you!
