Thank you for all your help so far. Unfortunately, we do not have good news. Despite all our efforts, our son's condition remained unchanged. Therefore, we once again turn to you for support.
Get to know Kamil's story:
It was December 2016. We were still living in the atmosphere of Christmas, which we spent in a quiet family circle. None of us even imagined that in a moment our everyday life would change irrevocably....
On December 27, Kamil suffered a serious traffic accident, the consequences of which he is still facing today. It is some kind of miracle that the son survived! I still return with my memory to the dramatic moments that unfolded in the hospital.
When Kamil was brought to the ward, he was unconscious and had to be intubated. The diagnostics performed showed severe multi-organ injuries: craniocerebral trauma, fractured vertebrae and spinal cord damage. I couldn't believe it all! Just a few days earlier we were sitting together at the Christmas Eve table, and now Kamil had to fight the battle for life! I wanted to believe that this was just a nightmare from which we would soon wake up.
Kamil's condition is stable, but there is no contact with his son at all. The injuries he suffered have caused him to suffer from quadriparesis, which means he requires round-the-clock care, as he is incapable of independent living. Kamil is mechanically ventilated and enteral fed using a special PEG tube.
My husband and I take care of our son, but sometimes we run out of strength.... Kamil requires proper treatment, rehabilitation, medical equipment. All this is very expensive. And the list of needs keeps growing. Currently, the most urgent purchase is a specialized rehabilitation bed with an anti-decubitus mattress.
Caring for Kamil every day consumes a huge amount of money. Fighting the consequences of such a horrible accident is not easy. Please support us in this difficult journey, where every zloty makes a huge difference!
