Disease that leads to death... We are saving Karol's life!

A fatal disease, known as childhood dementia, has struck our helpless child.

At the age of 3.5, Karol was initially diagnosed with only epilepsy, but soon after those terrible words were spoken...

There is no cure for Karol’s disease, only enzyme replacement therapy called Brineura which is not available in Poland, but in Germany. Currently, every 2 weeks, the child goes to a specialized clinic in Hamburg. There, he receives an infusion of the enzyme directly into the brain through a special port, which he lacks...

Unfortunately, despite starting therapy, Karol’s condition has worsened greatly. Our son stopped walking, talking, has ataxia, cannot eat or drink independently.

After more than a year of therapy, we learned that in addition to the enzyme therapy, intensive rehabilitation, nervous system stimulation and supplementation are just as important. We are doing everything in our power to provide our child with the best equipment, specialists, and time for intensive rehabilitation at home every day.

We see that this has significantly slowed down the disease and even regained some of the already lost abilities, despite it being a neurodegenerative disease.

As you can imagine, all this is related to a huge amount of money.

We want to continue searching for new ways to improve our son’s condition. We are also looking for the best specialists in the world. Every day, we learn how to best support rehabilitation at home or on intensive camps. However, the cost of such a stay is usually a huge amount! And that's just one of our regular expenses...
