Collection for saving life of my friend's daughter Maja

Maja's story shared by her mother: "Being a mother scared to death about my 3-year old daughter Maja is not easy. If somebody had told me one month ago about upcoming, brutal new reality, I would have not believed them. But now, I have to. The worst nightmare, ever possible for every parent, has come true. My daughter Maja was diagnosed with malignant tumour and since 19th June 2020 the fight for her life has been continuous! Together with my husband, we beg you from the bottom of our parents’ hearts, for your financial help. Because here, in Poland, where we are and where our daughter is treated, the last phase of her treatment is not refundable and the life of Maja is estimated for one million PLN.
The parental fear for our child’s life is the worst kind of fear. In the second half of June we heard the verdict, the most serious diagnosis – neuroblastoma of the highest IV degree, with metastases to bone marrow. The tumour is located both in the epigastric and intra-abdominal regions and it is giant, it’s dimensions are: 14 cm x 5,8 cm x 7,7 cm.
Neuroblastoma has attacked the spine from the thoracic to the sacral section, the pelvis, the left hip bone, the right femur and the cranium bones. The illness causes also digestive system disturbances. Neuroblastoma is one of the most malignant tumours that kills children. The monster is very dangerous, treacherous, agressive and unpredictable.
Doctors’ words were like a knife which stabbed our hearts. Our hearts and life broke into millions of pieces. I remember the moment when we were holding the doctors’ diagnosis in our hands but we could not understand and feel that it concerns our baby daughter. But since that moment we came face to face with death and began the fight for the most precious treasure – Maja’s life, the life of our daughter.
Maja is very brave but so tiny! At the very moment she undergoes chemotherapy. We have began the fight! During three weeks Maja had several surgical procedures: a biopsy and two abdominal paracentheses. During the first procedure I had tears in my eyes but Maja was smiling and waving at other children! There was a beautiful smile on her face whilst my heart was bleeding because of the awareness that hospital will be the place to fight for her life.
The doctors prepared a plan of Maja’s treatment. Chemotherapy – for the beginning is aimed to make the tumour smaller in order to make it possible to remove surgically. Then, the mother cells transplantation, giant chemo, radiotherapy and immunotherapy are to take place. The last one’s task is to prevent from the illness recurrence and to destroy neuroblastoma forever. The immunotherapy costs about 1 million PLN …and Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) does not refund it yet. We, the parents, have to pay. One million … this is the price of our daughter’s life therefore we beg you for help. Please, help us to pay the amount of money. This is the aim of the Internet collection.
If there was only such a possibility, we – the parents, would like to take all the evil, pain and suffering from our daughter and undergo everything instead of her. But we can only beg for your help. So we are begging for donations, shares, a good supportive word and a prayer. We do believe that together, with your good hearts, we could save our daughter’s life! Please, help us save our Maja."
