Klaudia’s dream of becoming a doctor has been suddenly shattered... Please, help our daughter regain her mobility!

Klaudia was born with a serious congenital heart defect. In the first weeks of her life, she had to undergo the first surgery, and another one 13 years later. Apart from cardiac stress limitation, our daughter was functioning normally, like her peers. She was very cheerful, sociable and had many friends. She was dreaming of becoming a cardiologist in future to help other children with heart defects. We hoped that the worst was behind her...

Soon after, we moved to Great Britain and continued her treatment there. After consultations, it turned out that another procedure was necessary – namely, aortic valve replacement. This surgery was supposed to be a great step forward as its aim was to help Klaudia overcome her limitations. Unfortunately, fate decided otherwise!

During the surgery, she had a STROKE! It was so extensive that it caused severe brain damage! We were shocked... The aim was to help our daughter regain health, not to take it completely! As a result, she was paralysed and we were able to communicate for the first time after a month.

As soon as it was possible, we started a very difficult fight to regain the previous mobility – at first in rehabilitation clinic and later at home. We did everything we could to help our Klaudia who had to learn everything anew... We remember the moment when she was finally able to sit in the wheelchair on her own. It was a great success for all of us!

But there is still a long and difficult road ahead of her. Currently, she is learning to walk. Unfortunately, her left arm is not mobile and she can go to school only twice a week for three hours. She is not able to sit in the wheelchair longer and she easily gets tired. She needs constant care – she cannot get dressed or eat without our help. She also has some issues with her eyesight.

Despite everything that happened to her, Klaudia does not intend to give up, she still wants to be a doctor to help others. However, before this can happen, she would like to be independent – to be able to make a sandwich or go to the toilet on her own. This is her greatest dream now! But in order for the dream to come true, she needs long, intensive and very expensive rehabilitation with specialists. She cannot continue fighting otherwise.

For this reason, today, we have to ask for a chance for our Klaudia! Please, help us fight for a better tomorrow, so she can be healthy and mobile. Each, even the smallest donation, gets us closer to the desired goal! We are already thankful for your support!
