Cancer. Was I ready for it? No, I was not. No one would be. Look, I am in my mid-thirties; a mum of Jas (7-years-old) and Andrzej’s fiance. My life is gaining momentum. I mean, it was until I heard the diagnosis: squamous cell carcinoma in the duodenum and pancreas area, keratinised partially (G2, T4NxMx).
A few months ago, I started suffering from digestive disorders. Doctors were always giving me the same answers and solutions: indigestion, medications and a diet. I followed their guidance. My ailments not only did not disappear but also intensified. The pain was unbearable...
Two months ago, they admitted me to the hospital for the first time. Now, I am a patient at the National Institute of Oncology in Warsaw. Doctors are doing their best, but options here are limited. I will not give up!
My family, friends and I are doing extensive research. We see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is the help offered by specialists at the Heidelberg University Clinic. They are ready to perform a surgery on my tumor. The cost of the treatment is € 65,000. I cannot even imagine such a sum of money. Lack of funds puts into question my recovery.
