Fundraiser description

“You won’t believe…” That’s how I usually start a sentence when I tell people about my travels, my children, or my weekend plans. I never would have thought one day I would refer to the battle for my life.
My name is Kora. I live in the countryside with my husband and two children. I graduated from the University of Physical Education, and doing sports and being on the move are in my nature. I was dedicated to my job; I felt great working for my organization, and my husband and I showed our children the world by travelling and having a home full of family and friends, since relationships are the most important thing for us.
I’ve never complained or worried about the future. I’ve always dealt with all my scars and problems on my own and moved on. This time, however, I need help.

In June 2025, after a training session, I felt something was wrong. A month later, I heard a diagnosis: primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma. The tumor had spread throughout my entire chest and measured 15x12x18 cm. I started chemotherapy immediately, which lasted from July to November 2025. In December, the PET scan showed no evidence of cancer. I won! We cried with happiness and thought my battle was over.
I was recovering and ready to go back to work. And then, at the end of May 2026, during a training session, I couldn’t speak. I got scared and rushed to the doctor’s to get examined. The test results showed a tumor infiltration in the left temporal lobe.
PET scan confirmed the worst-case scenario: lymphoma recurrence…
Moreover, it was aggressive and located in the central nervous system (which occurs in only 2% of lymphoma patients). Initially, I was placed in the neurology ward, from which I was transferred to the haematology unit, where I started chemotherapy. After two weeks and two rounds of chemo, I learned my cancer was chemo-resistant.

The doctors said that the only chance for my recovery is a breakthrough therapy in which my own T lymphocytes are reprogrammed to recognize and destroy cancer cells. This is not an experiment, though; it’s a treatment for patients like me, suffering from a recurrent, chemo-resistant large B-cell lymphoma.
Unfortunately, it costs over 1.2 million zlotys, and we cannot afford it. The first time, I was able to pay for my cancer therapy with the help of my family, but today we need your support. Also, starting the therapy is a race against time - cancer in my head won’t wait. I don’t want to give up! I cannot leave my children and my husband!
This is why I am asking you for help from the bottom of my heart. Every donation or share brings me closer to winning the battle for life and bringing a happy ending to the “You won’t believe what happened to me once…” story.
Gratefully,
Kora
