Our daughters are seriously worried about their father! HELP us fight with the results of this tragedy!

Łukasz is my loving husband and a caring father of our two daughters. Our family has been always his first priority. His kindness, honesty and readiness to help others was unique. I still cannot believe in the extent of the tragedy that happened to us...

On 16 September 2024, around 7 A.M., Łukasz was in a car accident on the way to his job. After the intervention of fire-fighters who took him out of the crashed car, he was intubated and taken to a hospital in a serious condition.

There, the fight for his life began. The doctors performed a decompressive craniectomy and placed him in an induced comma on life support. The general diagnosis is traumatic brain injury. When I learned about everything, I could not put myself together...

Łukasz was in coma for about six weeks. Despite the attempts to wake him up, he remained unconscious. There was no contact with him and his health problems were worsening. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and drug-resistant bacteria infection. The doctors started preparing us for the worst...

Fortunately, my beloved husband showed his will to fight, overcame the disease and started making progress. Gradually, he started breathing on his own, the tracheal tube was removed, and after some time, he greeted me with the first word...I am not able to describe the happiness and relief that I felt that day.

He was gaining more and more strength each day. He started eating solid foods, sitting up and he attempted to stand up. The doctors realized that he may potentially regain his mobility and transported him to the medical rehabilitation ward.

Unfortunately his time there is almost up and there is a long and a very costly road ahead of us. Łukasz suffers from aphasia which, in his case, means that he speaks a lot but  incomprehensibly. Today, we have to everything we can so that he can regain his mobility and neurological function. 

Our financial capabilities are limited. The cost estimate for a month of rehabilitation in a private facility is very high and we do not know, how much time he is going to spend there. 

Our daughters are waiting for their beloved father at home, together with our family and friends. We cannot allow for Łukasz to spend the rest of his life in bed – he still has so much to do...Please, help us. We are grateful for every kind gesture.
